Kolkata, Dec 16 (NationPress) The draft voters’ list for West Bengal has been released, signaling the conclusion of the initial phase of the three-part Special Intensive Revision (SIR) initiative in the state. This publication occurred on Tuesday.
In conjunction, the Election Commission has made available a distinct list detailing voters excluded from the prior list as of October 2005. This list comprises deceased voters, those who have relocated, untraceable voters, duplicate entries, and others deemed suitable for exclusion.
Voters can verify their names in the draft voters’ list through three methods. The first option is to access the online platform at “voters.eci.gov.in.” Users can check their names using their EPIC card number. Moreover, the list of excluded voters can also be reviewed on the ECI’s separate publication.
For those without internet access, verification can be done at their polling station, respective municipal or borough offices, or block development offices, which will have printed lists available.
The third option involves contacting the booth-level officer (BLO) to confirm the presence of their name in the draft voters’ list.
The draft voters’ list and the list of excluded voters were officially released around 11:30 AM—approximately 30 minutes ahead of the anticipated noon publication time, as previously announced by the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of West Bengal.
