Kolkata, December 15 (NationPress) The provisional voters' list for three states and two Union Territories is set to be released on Tuesday, signaling the conclusion of the initial phase of the three-part Special Intensive Revision (SIR).

The three states included in this publication are West Bengal, Rajasthan, and Goa.

Additionally, the draft voters' lists will also be made available for the two Union Territories of Puducherry and Lakshadweep.

The Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) and District Electoral Officers (DEOs) from these states and Union Territories are preparing to distribute the draft lists to all political parties registered with the Election Commission of India (ECI).

A source from the West Bengal Chief Electoral Officer’s office indicated that voters will have three methods to verify their names in the draft list.

The first method is to access the voters' list available on the websites of both the ECI and the respective CEOs' offices.

The second method involves visiting the nearest borough office to view the printed lists.

The third option is to reach out to the relevant Booth Level Officers to confirm the presence of their names.

The ECI will also prepare separate lists of voters subject to exclusion in these states and Union Territories, including deceased, relocated, untraceable, duplicate voters, and others deemed unfit for inclusion.

The initial stage of the three-phase SIR, which commenced on November 4, will conclude on December 16 with the release of the draft voters' lists.

Following this, the second phase of the SIR will start, focusing on claims and objections, alongside the notice phase which includes issuance, hearing, verification, and resolution of enumeration forms and claims.

The final voters' list is scheduled for publication on February 14, 2026.

As for West Bengal, the ECI will reveal the dates for the vital Assembly elections set for next year right after the publication of the final voters' list.
