Key Takeaways
Bhubaneswar, Feb 8 (NationPress) The Governor of Odisha, Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati, emphasized on Sunday that genuine achievement in life transcends professional success or material wealth; it is fundamentally about evolving into compassionate individuals and responsible citizens who make meaningful contributions to society.
During an event at a school in Kaniha, Angul district, Kambhampati encouraged students to adopt principles of dedication, discipline, and integrity, which the institution has championed for more than 70 years.
He asserted that education should not only focus on career development but also on character building, fostering young people’s ability to positively impact society.
Characterizing the institution as a beacon of education, the Governor reminisced about its founding by the distinguished freedom fighter and former Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, the late Pabitra Mohan Pradhan.
He highlighted that at a time when the region struggled with limited educational opportunities, Pradhan established the school with a strong conviction that education serves as the most powerful catalyst for social change.
Dr. Kambhampati acknowledged the school's renaming in honor of Pabitra Mohan Pradhan, a proposal by the renowned leader Dr. Hare Krushna Mahatab, as a fitting homage to his vision and contributions.
He stated that the institution exemplifies how leadership and public spirit can yield transformative change.
The Governor praised the alumni for propagating the school’s values across Odisha and nationally, excelling in various fields including education, administration, medicine, science, and public service.
He also commended Union Minister of Education Dharmendra Pradhan, who attended the event, for facilitating the school's upgrade to a PM Shri Higher Secondary School under the National Education Policy 2020.
In his remarks, the Governor referred to the institution as a model of inclusive education and urged all parties to collaborate to elevate it further as it approaches its 75th anniversary of serving society.
