'Defaming the Nation for Political Gains': Eknath Shinde Critiques Rahul Gandhi
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, March 12 (NationPress) In the midst of escalating international tensions involving Iran, Israel, and the US, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Eknath Shinde, delivered a sharp critique of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday, accusing him of damaging India's reputation on the global stage.
During a press briefing, Shinde reassured citizens that the Central government is vigilantly monitoring the global landscape to avert any potential fuel or gas shortages within the country.
He highlighted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is directly overseeing the situation.
Shinde stated that both the Central and state governments are collaborating to ensure that citizens do not experience any difficulties caused by global conflicts.
He urged the public to remain cautious and not fall victim to misinformation regarding fuel shortages.
"To manage inventories effectively, officials have elucidated the current supply timelines. In rural regions, supply will be regulated every 45 days. In urban areas, consistent supply is maintained every 25 days. To curb hoarding and black marketing, special task forces have been deployed at Tehsildar offices in various districts. These teams are conducting surprise inspections of gas agencies and warehouses to confirm connection numbers and physical stock levels. While commercial distribution is temporarily suspended, domestic supplies remain uninterrupted," he explained.
Shinde took a direct jab at Rahul Gandhi, stating that the Congress leader is frequently seen traveling abroad while Parliament is in session.
"Rather than engaging in discourse within the 'temple of democracy', he (Rahul Gandhi) opts to travel abroad and tarnish India's image. This has become a repeated pattern," the Deputy Chief Minister alleged.
Referring to recent security operations, Shinde asserted that Gandhi does not take pride in the valor exhibited by Indian soldiers.
"By making statements that harm the nation's reputation, he (Rahul Gandhi) merely offers headlines for nations like Pakistan," he remarked.
Shinde underscored India's ascension to become the fourth largest economy, with aspirations to reach the third position globally, and took a sarcastic shot at the Opposition, claiming that the country's rapid growth is causing "indigestion" to certain individuals.
"The public will respond appropriately to those who prioritize defamation over constructive development. Live for this country and contribute to it," the Deputy Chief Minister concluded.
