Tokyo, Dec 10 (NationPress) The Indian Ambassador to Japan, Nagma Mohamad Mallick, convened a meeting with Yamaguchi Governor Tsugimasa Muraoka and Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly Speaker Shungaku Yanai on Wednesday to explore strategies to enhance bilateral relations, particularly focusing on Yamaguchi Prefecture.

"In attendance were esteemed members of the Prefectural Assembly, including Kenji Niki, Kenjiro Nishimoto, and Shinji Sakamoto, who serve as office bearers of the India-ASEAN regional Friendship and Economic Exchange Promotion League. They deliberated on reinforcing India-Japan ties, specifically with a spotlight on Yamaguchi Prefecture," the statement continued.
The Indian Embassy, alongside Yamaguchi Prefecture, organized a business seminar to inform participants about India's economic growth and the potential for collaboration between India and Yamaguchi. In her opening speech, Nagma Mohamad Mallick emphasized the mutual benefits that could arise from Yamaguchi and India working together.
"The Embassy of India and Yamaguchi prefecture collaborated to host a business seminar aimed at highlighting India's growth trajectory and opportunities for collaboration. Ambassador Nagma Mohamad Mallick, during her opening address, underscored the synergistic sectors between Yamaguchi and India. Governor H.E. Tsugimasa Muroka commended the embassy's efforts in arranging this outreach initiative," added the Embassy of India in Japan on X.
Furthermore, Shungaku Yanai, Speaker of the Prefecture Assembly, talked about the newly established India-Japan friendship association within the Yamaguchi Prefectural Assembly. Ms. Debjani Chakrabarti, Minister (Economic and Commerce) from the Embassy of India, presented on the 'Business Environment and Investment Opportunities in India.' Mr. Haranobu Hara from JETRO’s Global Strategy Team (South Asia) presented insights on 'India’s business environment and trends among Japanese Companies,'" it stated.
Earlier in the day, Nagma Mohamad Mallick addressed the fourth installment of the India-Japan Forum held in New Delhi.
As per an official statement, the India-Japan Forum aims to provide a platform for leaders from both nations to shape the future of their bilateral and strategic partnerships through discussion and collaboration. Convened by the Ananta Centre and the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the forum aspires to strengthen cooperation, seize opportunities, foster idea exchange, build mutual trust, and develop a joint agenda for future collaboration," it concluded.
