Prayagraj, Jan 25 (NationPress) An early morning fire erupted on Saturday in two vehicles parked along the primary route leading to the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj.
The incident took place at approximately 6:30 A.M. near Sector 2, originating from a Maruti Ertiga.
Fire services officer Vishal Yadav confirmed that fire brigades responded promptly to manage the situation, ensuring that no injuries were reported.
"We received an alert about a Maruti Ertiga ablaze near Sardar Patel Seva Sansthan. Six fire brigades and water tenders were dispatched, and the fire was promptly controlled," Yadav informed IANS.
He mentioned that a second vehicle, a Hyundai Venue parked nearby, suffered partial damage. Quick action by the fire department was crucial in preventing the fire from spreading, particularly given the nearby slum areas.
The investigation into the fire's cause is ongoing, with initial assessments suggesting that extreme heat may have contributed to the incident.
This incident follows a fire that occurred last week at the Maha Kumbh Mela site, triggered by the explosion of two gas cylinders within a tent. The ensuing chaos was swiftly managed thanks to timely rescue operations.
Last week, the fire erupted in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh venue when a small cylinder leaked during tea preparation. The explosion resulted in the destruction of several tents and vital items, including beds, cots, blankets, chairs, and tables.
Fire trucks stationed at the venue for this large-scale event were able to quickly contain the fire, thus avoiding any casualties. Authorities also took precautionary measures by evacuating individuals from nearby tents.
Drones were utilized to oversee the situation, offering real-time aerial perspectives to facilitate firefighting operations. This proactive strategy ensured effective crisis management and minimized damage.
