The 150 km-long National Highway linking Khagaria and Purnea will be developed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Nitin Nabin also highlighted the plans for an additional two-lane bridge over the Kosi River. This announcement was made in response to an inquiry by MLC Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Singh, who emphasized the government's commitment to enhancing connectivity in Central Bihar and the Seemanchal regions.
The primary objective of the four-lane initiative between Khagaria and Purnea is to foster economic growth in the area while simultaneously improving travel efficiency and safety.
In recent years, the Bihar government, alongside the NHAI, has completed several 4-lane projects such as the Patna-Buxar, Arrah-Mohania, Rajauli-Bakhtiyarpur, Mokama-Bakhtiyarpur, and Patna-Gaya-Dobhi routes among others.
Additionally, numerous initiatives, including the Patna to Bihta and Amas-Darbhanga projects, are currently in progress within Bihar.
The Bihar government aims to construct four and six-lane roads to ensure that Patna is accessible from any remote district within four hours.
Moreover, the Bihar Government also updated the House regarding the enhancement of farmer organizations.
During the Bihar Legislative Council session, MLC Sarvesh Kumar queried about the advancement of farmers' organizations in the state.
In reply, Deputy CM and Agriculture Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha shared significant insights on the government's initiatives.
He indicated that 696 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) have been formed in Bihar.
Currently, more than 10,000 farmer organizations are actively functioning in the state, with the Agriculture Department issuing licenses and authorization letters to bolster FPOs.
In Bihar, 193 FPOs have been sanctioned for seed distribution, 46 FPOs for pesticide sales, and 189 FPOs are authorized for fertilizers.
Sinha informed the House about the strengthening of agricultural infrastructure in Bihar to enhance farmers' access to quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, while promoting collective farming and improved market access.
