New Delhi, Oct 6 (NationPress) Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that India's Gen-Z has made it clear that they oppose dynastic politics, which explains their continual rejection of the Congress party and preference for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership.
Rijiju criticized Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his recent comments aimed at Gen-Z, asserting that the youth firmly stand with PM Modi rather than the Congress.
On September 18, following his second presentation regarding alleged voter fraud, Gandhi had reached out to Gen-Z, promising to support them in combating "vote chori" and claiming they would be pivotal in "protecting democracy".
In response, Rijiju told IANS, "An attempt is being made to launch a campaign nationwide, citing examples from Nepal, Bangladesh, and others. Rahul Gandhi mentioned Gen-Z, but I want to clarify that our country’s Gen-Z has already rejected him three times."
Referring to India's Gen-Z as "intelligent and aware," Rijiju remarked, "Our youth is against dynastic politics and nepotism. Congress is a large party with many capable leaders, but it is controlled by one family; a singular family rules like a monarch. The public is opposed to this and also to corruption; they stand against Congress.”
Rijiju further added that Rahul Gandhi fails to grasp that Gen-Z does not align with Congress because Indian youth value integrity and accountability—qualities evident in PM Modi's administration.
"The populace supports PM Modi because under his governance, no official or minister can engage in corruption. PM Modi will remove anyone from the party or government within an hour if implicated in corruption. Gen-Z's frustration is directed at Congress. Rahul Gandhi cannot see this. The people of our nation are astute," he concluded.
