Kathmandu, Nov 29 (NationPress) The Indian Consulate General in Nepal's Birgunj, in collaboration with Iskcon Birgunj, commemorated the Gita Mahotsav on Saturday, where numerous scholars underscored the relevance of the Bhagavad Gita in today's world.

Students recited verses from the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita and showcased cultural performances inspired by its teachings. The event was further enriched by an exhibition of Shrimad Bhagavad Gita literature. A diverse audience attended the gathering, as noted by the Indian Consulate on X.

Indian missions globally are celebrating the International Gita Mahotsav 2025, emphasizing the enduring spiritual and philosophical lessons of the Bhagavad Gita.

The Gita Mahotsav is observed to propagate the teachings of duty, righteousness, and wisdom on the Ekadashi (11th lunar day) of the Shukla Paksha (bright fortnight) in the month of Margashirsha (Indian Calendar), commemorating the moment when Lord Krishna imparted the eternal wisdom of the Gita to Arjun on the battlefield of Kurukshetra.

Earlier this week, the Embassy of India in Morocco also marked the International Gita Mahotsav with spiritual discussions and shloka recitations.
