Chandigarh, Oct 22 (NationPress) In a notable event organized by the Haryana government, 100 copies of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita (Japanese edition) were presented to the Consulate General of India in Osaka, Chandru Appar.
The formal handover was conducted by Assistant Professor Vikas Pandey from Osaka University and Nikita, who is currently residing in Tokyo.
During this event, prominent figures such as the Haryana government’s Joint Director of the Department of Foreign Cooperation, Heena Bindlish, and Pawan Choudhary, Advisor to the Chief Minister in the same department, participated via video conference.
Discussions centered on disseminating the eternal teachings of the Gita throughout Japan and beyond.
CGI Osaka, Chandru Appar, showed enthusiasm for initiating an online Gita learning course specifically for Japanese students. It’s important to highlight that the International Gita Mahotsav will take place in Kurukshetra, the birthplace of the Bhagavad Gita, from November 15 to December 5.
Throughout this period, cultural and spiritual events will be organized in 51 countries.
On this occasion, the Haryana delegation urged CGI Osaka to facilitate the participation of Japanese representatives in both the International Gita Mahotsav and the forthcoming Surajkund Mela as part of cultural exchange activities between the two nations.
The International Gita Mahotsav promises to present a divine synthesis of spirituality, culture, and art.
Since its inception in 2016, the Gita Mahotsav has garnered tremendous success and popularity, drawing lakhs of participants from both India and abroad. Last year, the event witnessed an attendance of approximately 45 to 50 lakh people, and a similar turnout is anticipated this year.
For the first time, the International Gita Mahotsav was celebrated in Mauritius and London in 2019, followed by events in Canada in September 2022, Australia in April 2023, and upcoming celebrations in Sri Lanka and England in 2024.
