Mumbai, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Women and Child Development Minister Aditi Tatkare will not have the honour of unfurling the national flag at the Republic Day event in Raigad district. This privilege will instead go to Employment Guarantee Minister Bharat Gogawale, as confirmed by a recent government resolution.

According to the government resolution released by the General Administration Department on Wednesday, Gogawale has been designated to hoist the Tricolour at the district headquarters on January 26, part of the official Republic Day celebrations.

The resolution, pertaining to the upcoming 77th Republic Day festivities, outlines the guardian ministers for various districts who will take part in the main flag-hoisting events across Maharashtra.

For the Raigad district, the responsibility has been officially assigned to Bharat Gogawale, the document states. In contrast, last year’s ceremony saw Aditi Tatkare performing the flag hoisting duties.

Interestingly, Gogawale, who is associated with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena and the Ajit Pawar-led NCP, has laid claim to the position of guardian minister for Raigad district.

Due to the ongoing disputes between the Shiv Sena and NCP, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had postponed the appointment of the Raigad district guardian minister.

Aditi Tatkare was originally designated as the guardian minister for Raigad district last year. However, her appointment was suspended after Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde expressed strong objections.

The resolution also provides comprehensive guidelines for conducting Republic Day ceremonies throughout the state, covering flag-hoisting timings, protocols, participation of officials and public figures, as well as cultural events to celebrate the occasion.

All departments and district administrations are instructed to ensure the smooth execution of the celebrations in line with the established standards, as stated in the resolution.

Point of View

It's essential to recognize the political nuances in Maharashtra. The decision for Bharat Gogawale to unfurl the flag at Republic Day, instead of Aditi Tatkare, reflects deeper political dynamics and alliances that are currently shaping the state's governance. It’s vital for citizens to understand these shifts and their potential impact on regional governance.
