Key Takeaways
New Delhi, Jan 24 (NationPress) The Government is resolutely dedicated to inclusive development and making sure that the advantages of welfare programs reach every corner, asserted the Minister of State for Power and New & Renewable Energy, Shripad Yesso Naik, on Saturday.
During a dialogue with beneficiaries of significant government initiatives, Naik emphasized the accomplishments of the Pradhan Mantri Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN).
These beneficiaries have been specially invited to join the Republic Day celebrations this year.
This interaction showcased the Government’s commitment to inclusive growth under the visionary guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Out of approximately 1.43 lakh identified households, nearly 1.36 lakh homes have already received electricity, marking a remarkable 95 percent achievement, Naik noted.
This accomplishment has been facilitated by the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Power, state governments, and electricity distribution companies, the minister added.
Naik also discussed the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyaan (DA-JGUA), which was initiated in October 2024 to extend developmental benefits to Scheduled Tribe communities.
Under this initiative, a central grant of Rs 4,203 crore has been approved for electrifying more than 2.83 lakh households and over 4,200 public locations, Naik explained.
As of now, around 56,000 households have successfully received electrical connections, he mentioned.
He highlighted that special relaxations in cost norms have been implemented to ensure that even the most isolated and previously unconnected villages are included.
Naik further emphasized the significance of the PM-KUSUM scheme, recognized as the largest global initiative for solarizing agriculture.
He reported that 10.4 gigawatts of solar capacity has been established thus far, with over 21.7 lakh solar pumps installed nationwide.
These initiatives have positively impacted more than 21 lakh farmers by decreasing their reliance on diesel, lowering operational expenses, and reducing carbon emissions, he stated.
The Minister briefly mentioned the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, noting that this scheme is assisting households in adopting rooftop solar energy, minimizing their electricity costs, and moving towards energy self-sufficiency.
In total, 249 beneficiaries from 15 States have been invited to partake in this year’s Republic Day ceremonies.
The three-day program in New Delhi commenced with this engaging interaction.
