Gujarat local polls: Dy CM Sanghavi claims outside funds used to mislead farmers
Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi on Tuesday, 29 April 2025, alleged that funds were channelled from outside the state to mislead farmers during the Gujarat local self-government elections, making the claim at a 'Vijay Utsav' victory celebration organised by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Ahmedabad after the declaration of results.
BJP's Strong Showing Across Gujarat
The BJP secured a dominant position across multiple municipal corporations, municipalities, and local bodies in various regions of the state, according to election results declared ahead of the event. Party leaders and workers gathered at the celebration programme held across several districts to mark the outcome.
Addressing workers, Sanghavi said the results reflected widespread public support for the party.
