Ahmedabad, April 14 (NationPress) Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi remarked on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party’s unopposed wins in over 300 local body election seats signify the diminished strength of opposition parties within the state. He made these comments while participating in campaign events throughout Ahmedabad.

Sanghavi toured ward offices in Bapunagar and Sardarnagar, subsequently addressing both party workers and local residents at the India Colony ward office and during a 'Vikas Sankalp Sabha' in Saijpur-Bogha.

"The BJP’s unchallenged success in securing over 300 seats demonstrates the current standing of Congress and other parties in Gujarat. The people's unwavering faith lies solely with the ‘Lotus’,” Sanghavi asserted.

He also criticized recent remarks made by opposition leaders, suggesting they had insulted the people of Gujarat, urging voters to make their voices heard at the polls.

“Those who disrespect Gujarat’s dignity will face the consequences from the populace. The Congress party, under Rahul Gandhi’s leadership, has lost more than 99 elections and continues to demean Gujarat and its citizens,” he added.

He questioned, “What wrong have the industrious Gujaratis done, who toil day and night and regard people from across the nation as family? Why is there silence from Gujarat Congress leaders regarding this insult?”

Sanghavi called for a decisive response from voters against those who have undermined Gujarat’s pride.

In a comparison to former Congress governance, he remarked, “In the past, under Congress rule, Ahmedabad faced untold chaos and curfews.”

He continued, “That turmoil has been replaced by effective governance under the BJP leadership of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah.”

Highlighting improvements in law and order, he noted, “Today, daughters can enjoy garba festivals late into the night, a testament to BJP governance.”

During the celebrations for Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Sanghavi mentioned a significant event attended by Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.

“For the first time in our country’s history, leaders from Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes dined together with the President and the Chief Minister at Lok Bhavan,” he noted.

He emphasized that BJP volunteers are always available for public assistance, stating, “A BJP worker is on call 24/7 to aid the people,” while contrasting this with the lack of activity in opposition offices.

Local party leaders, elected officials, and party workers were present at these events.

The recent remarks by Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister reflect a significant moment in local politics. The BJP's unopposed victories signal a possible shift in the political landscape, showcasing the challenges faced by opposition parties in gaining traction within the state.
