Surat, Oct 2 (NationPress) On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, Gujarat’s Minister of State for Home Affairs, Harsh Sanghvi, conducted Shastra Puja at the Surat Police Headquarters, seeking blessings for the peace, security, and safety of the state.
During this symbolic observance of the victory of good over evil, Sanghvi performed rituals with police officials, underscoring the critical role of law enforcement in upholding harmony during significant festivals.
In remarks to reporters, he praised the peaceful and vibrant celebration of Navratri throughout Gujarat this year, attributing the success to the diligent efforts of the state police.
“This year marked the first time Navratri was celebrated with such vigor across the state, with individuals engaging in Garba in pandals until the early morning hours. The state police ensured that the celebrations proceeded safely and smoothly,” said Sanghvi.
He also commented on the success of Operation Sindoor.
“This year’s festivities were particularly special. A spirit of national pride was palpable alongside the devotion. The Armed Forces effectively carried out Operation Sindoor, which added substantial meaning to the celebrations,” he stated.
The minister further noted the economic benefits of Navratri, highlighting that small traders and vendors gained significantly from the prolonged festivities.
Regarding the removal of encroachments on government land in Godhra, Sanghvi compared the land mafia to Ravan, asserting that such encroachments would be eliminated for the sake of public welfare.
“I wish everyone a joyous Dussehra. I prayed for all the people of Gujarat that their aspirations may come true. This Shastra Puja is a cherished tradition, and this year it felt all the more significant due to the strength and discipline exhibited under Operation Sindoor,” he remarked.
Vijayadashami, also referred to as Dussehra, signifies the conclusion of the nine-day Navratri festival. It represents the triumph of good over evil, commemorating Lord Ram’s victory over Ravan and Goddess Durga’s triumph over Mahishasura. The day is regarded as auspicious for new beginnings and reinforces principles such as truth, righteousness, and virtue.
