Rajkot, July 25 (NationPress) The Gujarat Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi, chaired a Lok Darbar (public grievance session) at the Police Commissioner’s Office in Rajkot. During this event, he engaged directly with citizens, addressing their issues and providing instructions to police officials for resolving matters, especially related to cyber fraud, domestic violence, intimidation, usury, and fraud.
Present at the session was Home Department Joint Secretary Ashish Wala, who also assessed grievances and directed officers to take prompt action. Attendees expressed their appreciation for the police’s efficient and compassionate management of their cases, thanking both the Minister and the police personnel.
During the discussion, Minister Sanghavi reiterated the Gujarat Police’s commitment to serving the public, ensuring safety, and promoting peace, while highlighting the significance of building trust between law enforcement and the community. Batukbhai Solanki, a street vendor in the Mavdi area of Rajkot, attended the Lok Darbar with his wife to express gratitude to the police for assisting them in locating their missing son.
“When our adult son left without informing us, it felt as if our world had collapsed. We even lost our appetite,” Batukbhai recounted emotionally. “The Rajkot Taluka Police were like angels to us. Officers Dhaval Haripara and Salim Madam worked relentlessly to find our son in Surat and reunite us safely. Their continuous updates gave us hope throughout the two-month ordeal.”
Another citizen, Ramzanbhai Lakhani, thanked the Bhaktinagar Police for swiftly resolving the murder case of his 70-year-old brother, Barkat. “Two men murdered my brother to steal his gold jewelry. We lodged a complaint, and within 24 hours, the police apprehended the suspects. I am grateful to Minister Sanghavi and the officers for their rapid response,” he expressed.
Elderly widow Jagruti Dave shared how police intervention enabled her to reclaim her home from her nephew, who had refused to vacate it.
“After my husband passed away, I lived alone. My nephew’s family took over my house and wouldn’t leave despite my repeated pleas. I hesitated to approach the police, but thanks to ACP Radhika Bharai and her team, I filed a land-grabbing complaint at the Gandhigram Police Station. Within 15 days, the police resolved my case and returned my home,” she said. “I am sincerely thankful to the Gujarat government and the police for their professionalism.”
