Gandhinagar, April 17 (NationPress) The Gujarat Police have successfully returned, recovered, and returned stolen and seized possessions valued at over Rs 55.07 crore to their rightful owners in just three months, according to data released by the government on Thursday.
This initiative is part of a state-wide program called 'Tera Tujhko Arpan', which has significantly improved public service and administrative effectiveness.
Launched under the guidance of Director General of Police Vikas Sahay, this campaign prioritizes the safety and convenience of residents.
Throughout this initiative, a total of 2,108 public events were conducted across various districts in Gujarat from January to March 2025.
In January alone, 686 events facilitated the return of property worth Rs 20.18 crore, while February's 612 events accounted for returns amounting to Rs 13.84 crore.
March saw 810 programmes assisting in the return of assets valued at Rs 21.04 crore.
These gatherings, often structured as public darbars, enabled original owners to reclaim their lost or stolen belongings without the necessity of repeatedly visiting police stations.
The main goal of 'Tera Tujhko Arpan' is to guarantee that citizens avoid bureaucratic delays and unnecessary complications when recovering their items.
Currently, the Gujarat Police consists of over one lakh personnel, including Indian Police Service (IPS) officers, Gujarat Police Service officers, inspectors, sub-inspectors, constables, and support staff.
Additionally, the police force features specialized units for cybercrime, economic offenses, women's safety, and traffic regulation.
In recent years, the Gujarat Police have focused on integrating technology.
Programs such as the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS), the VISWAS Project (Video Surveillance), and e-FIR filing systems have been implemented to enhance policing efficiency and accessibility.
The state also leads the way in using body-worn cameras, drone surveillance, and AI-driven crime analytics in urban environments.
