Patna, Nov 5 (NationPress) Union Minister and former JD(U) national president Rajiv Ranjan Singh, commonly known as Lalan Singh, addressed an FIR filed against him on Wednesday. He emphasized that the Election Commission of India (ECI) operates without bias and urged for a thorough examination of the complete video related to the allegations.

While speaking to journalists in Mokama, Lalan Singh accused the RJD of disseminating a selective and misleading video clip.

“The segment being circulated does not capture the entire context, and when the full recording is viewed, the reality will be revealed,” Singh stated.

Lalan Singh asserted that the clip was filmed in a village where, according to him, an RJD leader was coercing underprivileged residents from wards 15 to 27 by threatening them regarding their voting rights.

“I was actually supporting those very voters,” he clarified, contending that his comments have been misrepresented.

With an FIR now filed, Lalan Singh noted that the entire video will be reviewed as part of the ongoing inquiry.

He also challenged the RJD to release the footage from the Pandarak incident and apologize if their version was indeed misleading.

On Tuesday, the ECI issued a notice to Lalan Singh requiring him to explain the video statement he made in Mokama during the campaign for his party’s candidate, Anant Singh.

The RJD shared a video clip on X displaying Lalan Singh during an electoral campaign.

In the viral footage, Lalan Singh is heard saying, “There are one or two leaders; don’t allow them to leave their homes on election day. Lock them inside, and if they plead excessively, tell them to join us to cast their vote. From today, you all take charge.”

Following the notice from the ECI and the ensuing media attention, an FIR was lodged against Lalan Singh.

Anant Singh is presently in judicial custody regarding the alleged murder of Dular Chand Yadav in Mokama, which occurred on October 30. Lalan Singh has been campaigning in the area in support of Anant Singh.
