Farjiwada: Delhi BJP Chief Accuses AAP's Sanjay Singh of Fraudulent Voter Registrations

New Delhi, Jan 2 (NationPress) The President of Delhi BJP, Virendra Sachdeva, on Thursday leveled accusations against Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh for allegedly misleading the public and breaching electoral statutes through fraudulent voter registrations.
Sachdeva asserted that Singh was registered as a voter in multiple constituencies, including Sultanpur Municipal Council in Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi Assembly, and Tilak Nagar Assembly constituencies. He claimed that Singh's actions exemplified the creation of fraudulent votes.
“We haven’t merely made allegations; we have provided evidence from official government and municipal council voter lists. Sanjay Singh is registered in three locations. It is Sanjay Singh who must answer. He has deceived the Election Commission and violated the law,” Sachdeva informed IANS.
He highlighted inconsistencies in Singh's statements, noting, “On January 4, 2024, he declared that his vote in the Sultanpur Assembly had been removed, and on January 8, 2024, his wife submitted an affidavit claiming she has a vote in Sultanpur.” He further reminded that creating fraudulent votes could lead to a one-year sentence under the law.
Sachdeva questioned Singh's integrity, asking, “As a leader of the AAP, is this the lesson you want to impart to your party workers? To fabricate votes and register in two or three places?”
During a press conference, Sachdeva displayed voter lists and affidavits to back his claims. He pointed out that in 2018, when Singh became a Rajya Sabha MP, his vote was recorded in the Hari Nagar Assembly constituency. However, during the same timeframe, his name appeared in the voter list of Sultanpur Municipal Council.
“A person submitting an affidavit as a Rajya Sabha MP, declaring residency in the Hari Nagar Assembly seat in Delhi, also has his vote registered in Sultanpur. This is deceit,” Sachdeva alleged.
Sachdeva further mentioned that Singh's wife, Anita Singh, is listed in the voter lists of both Sultanpur Municipal Council and Hari Nagar Assembly. Additionally, he accused Singh of registering votes in the New Delhi Assembly and Tilak Nagar Assembly constituencies as well.
“He wasn’t satisfied with Hari Nagar and Sultanpur. He also registered in the New Delhi Assembly and Tilak Nagar Assembly. This is their farjiwada (fraud). These are deceitful practices,” Sachdeva asserted.
Sachdeva urged the Election Commission and Delhi Police to take notice of the situation and take action against such violations.
He also criticized AAP's National Convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of neglecting core issues like water, roads, and electricity in Delhi.
“Kejriwal avoids discussing major issues. He never addresses polluted water, damaged roads, or power problems in Delhi. He will never confront his scams,” Sachdeva claimed.
He also alleged that Kejriwal’s wife and Delhi Mayor Mahesh Kumar’s wife have their votes registered in two Assembly constituencies each.
The President of Delhi BJP reiterated that such occurrences tarnish governance and called for immediate rectification of electoral practices.
