Delhi BJP Accuses AAP of Attempting to Add Fraudulent Names Post Deadline

New Delhi, Dec 29 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva asserted on Sunday that as part of AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal's scheme to manipulate Assembly elections, his followers are attempting to add fraudulent names to the electoral rolls despite the list being frozen on December 23.

While speaking to reporters, Sachdeva noted that in the Narela constituency alone, over 2,000 individuals applied for new voter registration on December 24. Likewise, applications were submitted in various constituencies on December 25, 26, and 27.

He rejected claims that the BJP was involved in the cancellation of the voter ID of AAP MP Sanjay Singh's wife, stating that the BJP does not resort to such petty politics. "These accusations against the BJP are unfounded and stem from personal conflicts," he remarked.

Sachdeva disclosed that two women, Madhu and Suresh Devi, who filed the applications to cancel Sanjay Singh's wife's voter ID, have family connections with the AAP leader.

He urged Sanjay Singh to clarify the relationship between these women and himself and his spouse.

Sachdeva reiterated that the BJP has continually exposed Kejriwal's and the AAP's complicity in the registration of illegal votes in Delhi, presenting substantial proof to support these allegations.

With the updated voter list scheduled for release on January 6, 2025, Sachdeva mentioned that although the electoral roll was frozen on December 23, applications for new voters have continued to be submitted in every Assembly constituency across Delhi.

"This is not just a coincidence but rather evidence of Arvind Kejriwal's manipulation scheme impacting 70 constituencies. What is particularly alarming is that none of these applicants are aged 18-20; instead, they range from 30 to 48 years," he stated.

"Where did these voters, aged 30 to 80, suddenly come from just before the Assembly elections?" questioned the Delhi BJP President.

"The BJP has lodged a complaint with the Election Commission on Saturday and plans to submit another one," he added.

Sachdeva called for immediate measures to halt the fraudulent voter registration activities occurring in Delhi.

He pointed out that prior to the 2014 Assembly elections, 1.3 million new votes were registered, and before the 2020 elections, 900,000 new votes were added. However, the number of voters did not see a significant increase during the Lok Sabha elections and subsequently leading up to this Assembly election.

The Delhi BJP President emphasized that every citizen of Delhi has the rightful opportunity to register to vote, yet the BJP will not endorse illegitimate registrations or voting.

Investigations will be initiated, and stringent actions will be taken against any officials or individuals implicated in these scams, he stated.
