Sanjay Singh of AAP Accuses BJP of Tampering with Voter Rolls Before Delhi Assembly Elections

New Delhi, Jan 3 (NationPress) The Aam Aadmi Party's Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, on Friday made serious allegations against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), claiming it has deleted names from the voters' rolls ahead of the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections. Singh asserted that the BJP was engaged in manipulating the voters' list, specifically targeting long-standing residents and women whose votes have been reportedly cancelled.

While speaking to IANS, Sanjay Singh allegedly provided evidence to back his claims, stating, "I will present you with this voters' list and I have also brought forth the list of women whose votes have been cancelled by the BJP."

"These women have been residents here for 30-40 years, have married, and raised their children in this area, yet their votes are being cancelled. This manipulation is occurring in the constituency from which former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is contesting elections. This clearly indicates that the BJP is aware of its impending defeat and is resorting to electoral fraud to secure victory."

Singh further highlighted that such actions represent a significant affront to democracy, and the AAP will not remain silent while the BJP attempts to distort the electoral process.

"We have lodged complaints about this, and if these votes are not reinstated or if further actions are taken to cancel them, we will vigorously contest it," he declared.

In addition, Singh criticized the BJP's broader performance, accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government of mismanaging the education system in the country.

He pointed out the alarming number of children leaving government schools, stating, "A staggering 37 lakh 45 thousand children have exited government schools. The Modi government is destroying the education system in our nation. Under their governance, neither children’s future nor their access to education and employment is secure."

Previously, on December 30, Arvind Kejriwal also expressed concerns over what he termed as a "manipulation" of voter lists in the New Delhi constituency.

Kejriwal claimed that approximately 12,000 voters had been added and removed from the rolls under dubious circumstances, accusing the BJP of eliminating names of AAP supporters while adding fictitious voters to alter the electoral outcomes. He also accused the BJP of "openly distributing cash" in the constituency to sway voters.

In response, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva dismissed these allegations, asserting that Kejriwal and AAP have a history of registering illegal voters. He accused Kejriwal of trying to sow confusion ahead of the elections through unfounded claims against the BJP.

As the Delhi Assembly elections draw closer, these allegations and counterclaims are anticipated to intensify the already charged political atmosphere in the national capital.
