How is Sanjay Singh's Wife Eligible to Vote in Two Assembly Constituencies? BJP Raises Questions

New Delhi, Dec 30 (NationPress) The BJP has vehemently criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh for his assertions regarding attempts by the BJP to remove his wife Anita Singh's name from the voters' list. The BJP is questioning the rationale behind her registration in two different Assembly constituencies.

During a press conference held on Sunday, Singh, along with his wife, accused the BJP of targeting Purvanchali voters in Delhi and attempting to manipulate the voters' list.

He alleged that two applications were submitted on December 25 and 26 to delete his wife's name from the voters' list of the New Delhi Assembly constituency, which is represented by AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Singh claimed that the BJP is trying to undermine the voting rights of Purvanchalis—individuals from eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, who constitute a crucial vote bank in Delhi.

In solidarity with Singh, Kejriwal accused the BJP of executing 'Operation Lotus' since December 15, aiming to delete votes in his New Delhi constituency. He highlighted a similar situation in the Shahdara constituency, where he alleged that the BJP sought to remove over 11,000 voters.

In response to these accusations, BJP MP Manoj Tiwari dismissed Singh's claims, asserting, "One individual is entitled to only one vote throughout the country. If someone registers in multiple locations and creates bogus votes, it constitutes a crime and warrants investigation."

"The BJP is firmly opposed to illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators and Rohingyas voting. If anyone facilitates their registration, those votes must be annulled, and the accountable officials should face consequences," he explained to IANS.

Tiwari further accused Kejriwal of endorsing illegal voters, stating, "Kejriwal desires infiltrators' votes and rushed to the Election Commission as soon as their votes were annulled."

He also challenged Singh to present evidence of any Purvanchali voter whose name the BJP reportedly aimed to eliminate.

Referring to Anita Singh, Tiwari asserted that her name is registered in the Sultanpur constituency of Uttar Pradesh, as indicated in Sanjay Singh's election affidavit.

He displayed a photograph showing Anita Singh with an inked finger after voting in Delhi, implying potential electoral fraud.

"If this is accurate, it constitutes a serious offense, and Sanjay Singh's Rajya Sabha membership should be revoked. Our legal team will lodge a complaint shortly," he added.

BJP MP Ramveer Singh Bidhuri also questioned the dual registration of Anita Singh and called for necessary actions.

"If Sanjay Singh has a problem, he should file a complaint with the Election Commission. Why does he shy away from doing this?" he queried.

In a conversation with IANS, Bidhuri further alleged that the AAP had distributed Aadhaar cards to illegal immigrants, allowing them to vote unlawfully.

"If the administration is canceling such illegal votes, what is wrong with that? If the AAP disagrees, they should officially complain, but they never do because they are aware of their wrongdoing," Bidhuri claimed.

He concluded by asserting that the AAP is anxious about losing the forthcoming Assembly elections and is leveraging these tactics to divert attention from its failures.
