AAP Claims Voter Name Deletions by BJP; BJP Promises Integrity in Upcoming Elections

New Delhi, Dec 10 (NationPress) Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP, Sanjay Singh, on Tuesday intensified his party’s criticism of the Bharatiya Janata Party, claiming that the BJP has been involved in deleting the names of AAP supporters from the electoral rolls in the national capital. Meanwhile, the BJP has promised to prevent any instances of ‘bogus voting’ in the upcoming Assembly elections.

During a press conference, Singh alleged that the BJP illegally submitted applications for the removal of 3,800 AAP voters in the R.K. Puram constituency, asserting that the party intends to uncover similar irregularities in other areas as well.

In response, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva accused AAP of attempting to utilize “bogus voters,” insisting that since the initiation of the campaign against illegal voters, Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders have resorted to unsubstantiated claims to distract from significant issues facing Delhi.

Sachdeva declared, “We will not allow a single Rohingya, Bangladeshi, or any fraudulent voter to participate in the upcoming Assembly elections.”

He continued, “Kejriwal is rattled as his deceptions come to light. We are identifying bogus Rohingya and Bangladeshi voters, as well as exposing those from UP who come to vote in Delhi.”

Earlier, Sanjay Singh accused the BJP of already conceding defeat in the Assembly elections and attempting to secure victory through underhanded tactics by removing AAP voters from the lists.

“The Election Commission, along with the BJP, seeks to conduct the election with AAP by eliminating voters' names,” he stated, asserting that the BJP is trying to replicate its winning strategies from Maharashtra and Haryana in Delhi.

He emphatically stated that it is the BJP engaging in fraud, saying, “Our primary contest in Delhi is against the BJP. We do not anticipate assistance from the Biju Janata Dal or the BRS in this matter.”

AAP spokesperson Reena Gupta revealed that local MLA, Parmila Tokas, had contacted the Election Commission to obtain information regarding the voters whose names were removed post-summary revision, and was informed that 3,800 names had been deleted. She noted that they managed to locate around 1,800 voters for whom Forms 10 were unlawfully submitted to remove their names.

Sanjay Singh encouraged those who have had their names deleted to approach the Election Commission to seek restoration.

“Election Commission officials should also apologize to these individuals for the illegal applications filed for the removal of their names,” he stated.

While presenting voters whose names were deleted from the rolls, Singh asserted that regardless of the District Magistrate's statements, “there is no doubt in our minds regarding the alleged fraud as these voters, whose names have been removed, are physically present here.”

He noted that the BJP has been targeting polling booths where AAP supporters are in the majority for name deletions.
