Gandhinagar, Sep 20 (NationPress) Beneficiaries in Gujarat's Kutch and Navsari districts are receiving extensive health services under the ongoing Swasth Nari Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan. This initiative aims to enhance maternal and child health, encourage preventive care, and guarantee access to vital medical services, especially for women and children.
In Kutch, more than 13,000 beneficiaries have utilized health services at 539 medical camps organized throughout the district as part of this fortnight-long campaign. These camps, hosted at Community Health Centres (CHCs), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and Ayushman Arogya Mandirs, prioritized comprehensive health evaluations for women, children, and adolescent girls.
Services offered included blood tests, vaccinations, antenatal checkups for expectant mothers, screenings for conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, tuberculosis (TB), sickle cell anaemia, cervical and breast cancer, along with various other diseases. Health awareness sessions were also organized to promote healthy lifestyle choices, emphasizing reduced sugar and oil consumption, supporting local food, and practicing good nutrition and menstrual hygiene.
Medical professionals, including gynaecologists, paediatricians, ophthalmologists, ENT specialists, dermatologists, and psychiatrists, provided consultations and treatment during these camps. Additionally, telemedicine services were made available to ensure further accessibility.
Beneficiaries received guidance and assistance with registration for health schemes like the Mother and Child Protection (MCP) card, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, and Ayushman Vay Vandana Card. Nutrition-related initiatives such as the Poshan Tracker and distribution of Take Home Ration (THR) were also implemented.
Community involvement was evident through blood donation drives, organ donation pledges, and volunteer registrations under the Nishchay Mitra initiative. These camps were inaugurated by local officials in several towns and villages, including Bhuj, Mandvi, Nakhatrana, Gandhidham, and Bhachau.
Alpa Mishra, a beneficiary from Kutch, expressed her gratitude by stating, “I am receiving excellent medical treatment here. I thank PM Modi for this.”
In Navsari district, similar camps are being conducted as part of the state-wide campaign, which is set to run until October 2. Families from both rural and urban areas are accessing healthcare through their Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY) cards. Health department personnel are guiding beneficiaries, issuing cards, and providing free treatment under the scheme.
Besides medical assistance, financial and nutritional support is being extended, including food kits and Rs 3,000 in cash aid to TB patients. Beneficiaries, particularly those from economically disadvantaged and working-class backgrounds, voiced their appreciation for the government's support.
Priyashi Patel, a seven-month-pregnant beneficiary in Navsari, stated, “I am receiving treatment. I thank PM Modi for this.”
