Created by the Directorate of Census Operations for Gujarat, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, this platform boasts a modern aesthetic, user-friendly navigation, and multilingual options, ensuring accessible usage for individuals throughout the state.
During the launch, CM Patel articulated that this enhanced website is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's digital governance vision aimed at public welfare, underlining that precise census data is crucial for effective policy formulation and equitable growth.
He emphasized, "The Census-to-Welfare approach aligns seamlessly with the Prime Minister's ambition for balanced development through data-driven decision-making."
Furthermore, the Chief Minister praised the upcoming 2027 Census initiative, which will mark a groundbreaking shift as it will be executed entirely in a digital format via mobile applications.
CM Patel highlighted this technological advancement, stating that citizens will soon have the ability to securely submit their information online through a self-enumeration feature, a significant move towards transparency, efficiency, and citizen involvement.
He indicated that the pilot phase of this project will yield valuable insights before the comprehensive launch.
Sujal Mayatra, Director of Census Operations for Gujarat, provided an elaborate explanation about the website and the future preparations.
He noted that rehearsal exercises and mobile app trials for the 2027 Census pre-test have already commenced.
The chosen pilot areas encompass 133 blocks in Surat Municipal Corporation, 70 blocks across 26 villages in Devgadh Baria taluka (Dahod district), and 60 blocks across 25 villages in Tankara taluka (Morbi district).
The pre-test phase will run from November 10 to 30, providing essential insights into the digital census process.
Attendees at the launch included Chief Secretary M.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Avantika Singh Aulakh, alongside senior officials from the Gujarat Directorate of Census Operations.
