Concerning the removal of sand that has settled in fields due to flooding, the government has mobilized teams to ensure that any fields with significant sand accumulation will receive permission for removal.
“However, it was discovered that the sand buildup was not considerable,” he noted.
The Chief Minister's remarks were in response to a query from member Ram Karan about the permission for sand removal in fields affected by floods during the ongoing winter session of the Vidhan Sabha.
CM Saini elaborated that most of the sand had settled back into the riverbed.
“Fields within the designated boundaries for which the government has provided compensation were evaluated, and it was determined that excessive sand had not accumulated,” he stated.
He underscored that the BJP government prioritizes ensuring that farmers do not encounter difficulties, committing to compensating for both minor and major losses.
“The welfare of farmers is paramount for the government,” he asserted.
In response to another inquiry from member Bharat Bhushan Batra regarding the provision of adequate drinking water in Rohtak, the Chief Minister affirmed, “It is the government’s highest responsibility to guarantee sufficient drinking water for every citizen, and efforts are continually being made in this regard. We are also striving to ensure drinking water supply to every household in Rohtak.”
He mentioned that for the construction of a reservoir, a proposal is in place to transfer 16 acres of land from the Municipal Corporation of Rohtak to the relevant department.
The Chief Minister assured that there will be no water shortages and that the government is actively working towards an uninterrupted supply.
