Chandigarh, Sep 7 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, took a proactive approach on Sunday by visiting regions in the Fatehabad district that were impacted by waterlogging caused by recent rains. He assessed the situation firsthand, engaged with local residents and farmers, and guaranteed that the government would extend all necessary support.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the administration would facilitate adequate compensation for the losses incurred by the farmers.
To assist in this process, the e-Kshatipurti portal has been launched, allowing farmers to report any crop damage.
Currently, crop loss affecting approximately 1.70 lakh acres has already been documented on the portal. He reassured the farmers that compensation payments would be issued promptly, affirming that the government stands resolutely with them during this challenging period.
Relief measures will also be implemented for families whose homes or roofs have suffered damage due to the rainfall. He instructed the Deputy Commissioner to compile a list of these homes and ensure timely disbursement of assistance.
About a month prior, Rs 78.50 crore was allocated under the Baba Saheb Ambedkar Awas Yojana, and affected families will receive immediate relief once they apply through this scheme.
He reassured that no family impacted by these events would be left without support, pledging that all necessary assistance will be provided without delay.
The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government is actively aiding flood-affected citizens in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh. To date, over 80 trucks loaded with relief supplies have been dispatched.
On the same day, 25 trucks were sent out—10 for Himachal Pradesh and 15 for Punjab. The Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP National President J.P. Nadda are closely monitoring the situation and providing full support.
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Rs 2,314 crore has been allocated for both rural and urban housing in Haryana over the last 10.5 years. Additionally, Rs 416 crore has been set aside under the Ambedkar Housing Renovation Scheme.
Recently, the state government distributed Rs 88.50 crore to compensate farmers for losses incurred due to heavy rainfall.
CM Saini stated that the intense rainfall has resulted in significant waterlogging throughout various low-lying areas in the state. During his visit to the affected locations, he instructed officials to accelerate relief efforts and drainage operations.
He assured the public that the government is diligently working on a permanent solution to prevent such issues in the future.
