Chandigarh, Jan 31 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini criticized former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal regarding the quality of Yamuna water, stating that no efforts have been made in Delhi for the last decade.
He accused Kejriwal of engaging in political theatrics to mask his failures.
“For the past ten years, Kejriwal has compelled the residents of Delhi to consume polluted water,” Saini remarked.
While showcasing water samples from both Haryana and Delhi at Yamuna Ghat in Wazirabad, the Chief Minister highlighted the stark contrast in quality.
He stated that contaminated water is being discharged into the Yamuna from Delhi.
Directly blaming the Delhi government, Saini asserted, “We provide clean water to Delhi via the Yamuna, but due to poor management, the Delhi government is tainting it.”
He pointed out that by the time the Yamuna water reaches Faridabad, its quality deteriorates significantly, posing serious health risks such as cancer.
The Haryana Chief Minister claimed that the citizens of Delhi have recognized Kejriwal’s dishonesty and will consequently reject him.
He condemned Kejriwal for failing to advance Delhi over the past decade and attempting to shift blame onto Haryana to distract from his shortcomings.
He shared that he personally drank the water released from Haryana into the Yamuna at Palla Ghat, contrasting it with the undrinkable water from Delhi.
Additionally, the Chief Minister noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi allocated Rs 8,500 crore for cleaning drains, ponds, and repairing the sewage system, yet no visible improvements have been made.
He emphasized that it is the Chief Minister's duty to provide public amenities, which are noticeably lacking in Delhi.
Saini also criticized Kejriwal for failing to fulfill promises related to enhancing schools and ensuring clean water, accusing him of engaging in deceptive politics. He stated that the people of Delhi will close the “shop of lies” on February 5, the day of the Assembly elections.
