New Delhi, Jan 28 (NationPress) Members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) representing Haryana expressed their strong disapproval on Tuesday against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) administration in Delhi and its leader Arvind Kejriwal for making unfounded claims that their state is responsible for contaminating the Yamuna. They are demanding an apology from the former Chief Minister of Delhi.

Bhiwani-Mahendragarh MP Dharambir Singh presented comprehensive evidence regarding the quality of the Yamuna water released by Haryana, stating that Kejriwal has recently been spreading misleading narratives by accusing their state of engaging in ‘water terrorism’.

Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra remarked, “If any harmful substances are discovered in the Yamuna, Kejriwal should face immediate arrest for his criminal conspiracy. Conversely, if no toxic elements are detected up to the Haryana border, he should be penalized for disseminating falsehoods.”

Another Rajya Sabha MP, Rekha Sharma, commented, “Once Kejriwal realized that his government in Delhi was at risk after a decade of deceit, he resorted to falsely blaming the Haryana government.”

She noted that the Delhi Jal Board has explicitly stated that after Wazirabad, untreated sewage and industrial waste from Delhi contribute to the pollution of the Yamuna.

Rajya Sabha MP Kiran Choudhry highlighted, “Out of the 37 treatment facilities in Delhi, only 17 are operational. This reflects the failures of the Kejriwal administration. If all plants functioned properly, the water situation in Delhi would not be so dire.”

She expressed disbelief at Kejriwal’s claims of ‘water terrorism’ being perpetrated by Haryana.

“It's quite lamentable that someone who has served as Chief Minister behaves so recklessly,” she added.

BJP National Spokesperson Rajeev Jaitley pointed out, “Kejriwal installed a ₹15 crore water treatment facility at his residence because he is aware that the water consumed by the residents of Delhi is unsafe.”

He accused Kejriwal of lying with both cunningness and confidence, even swearing on his children.

Dharambir Singh clarified that on one side of the Yamuna lies Uttar Pradesh and on the other, Haryana.

“Haryana only discharges 300 cusecs of water into the Yamuna. At the Tajewala Headworks, only 300 cusecs are released, except during the monsoon, and it does not reach Delhi. This is in accordance with the Supreme Court order to prevent the Yamuna from drying up and to protect wildlife,” he elaborated.

He added that Haryana has supplied over 10,000 cusecs of water to Delhi.

This water is transported in significant amounts via the West Yamuna Canal, which is fully cemented and includes water from the Bhakra Canal.

The canal that delivers water to Delhi also serves other regions in Haryana, yet there have been no complaints from those areas.
