New Delhi, Jan 29 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday launched a strong criticism against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), rejecting its assertions that the Haryana government had "poisoned" the Yamuna River. He emphasized that he personally consumes the same Yamuna water.

While addressing a public gathering in Delhi's Kartar Nagar, PM Modi condemned the AAP for misleading the residents of Delhi.

In response to AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal's claims about Haryana's supposed "poisoning" of the Yamuna, PM Modi labeled it a "grave sin" committed for political advantage.

"A former Chief Minister of Delhi has made serious accusations against the citizens of Haryana. Out of fear of electoral defeat, AAP has lost its mental stability. Are the people of Haryana any different from those in Delhi? Don’t their families and relatives reside here? Can they contaminate the water that their own families consume?" the Prime Minister queried.

Taking a direct shot at the allegation, PM Modi remarked, "This Prime Minister also drinks the same water. Foreign diplomats, ambassadors, and even the underprivileged in Delhi drink the same water. Does AAP believe that the BJP government in Haryana would poison the water to harm Modi? What sort of nonsensical claim is that? Was there a conspiracy to poison the judges of this nation as well? Delhi residents, those who commit such heinous acts will not be forgiven by Delhi or by the nation."

Describing the accusations as an affront to the nation, PM Modi stated, "This is not merely an insult to Haryana; it is an insult to India, our values, and our integrity. In this country, providing water is regarded as a sacred duty. However, these individuals, fearing electoral loss, resort to such unfounded allegations."

Anticipating a political backlash, he stated, "This time, Delhi will impart a lesson to those propagating such falsehoods. Their boat will sink in this very Yamuna."

The Prime Minister also underscored the accomplishments of the BJP governments in various states. "Many individuals across the country were still deprived of basic amenities like toilets, roads, gas connections, bank accounts, and electricity. Numerous people from Uttarakhand reside in Delhi. Uttarakhand, located in the heart of the Himalayas, faces challenging mountainous conditions. When we assumed governance there, we ensured every village received roads. Now, the youth are returning to their native villages," he mentioned.

Highlighting his government's successes, PM Modi stated, "Before I took office in 2014, only 3 crore rural households had tap connections. In just the last five years, 12 crore new families have gained access to tap water. This initiative existed during Congress's rule, but we expanded it from 3 crore to 12 crore within five years. We don’t halt initiatives; we amplify them."

Criticizing the AAP's management of Delhi's water crisis, he noted, "If even the most remote villages in India can access clean tap water, why is Delhi’s tap water undrinkable? Forget drinking water; even the water provided for daily use is contaminated. If the BJP can deliver tap water to remote villages, we can guarantee clean tap water for every household in Delhi too."

Condemning AAP's unfulfilled pledges, PM Modi said, "AAP has left Delhi at the mercy of the water mafia. They have sought votes in three elections under the pretext of cleaning the Yamuna, and even now, they persist with the same false promises. Their shamelessness is astounding. They deliberately want Delhi's residents to struggle for water. Our Purvanchal friends are compelled to worship Chhathi Maiya amid filth every year due to their failures."
