Dhaka, Nov 11 (NationPress) The former Prime Minister of Bangladesh, Sheikh Hasina, expressed strong condemnation of the dreadful incident that occurred near Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station, labeling it entirely unacceptable under any circumstances.
This statement follows a devastating explosion that occurred on Monday evening, targeting vehicles parked close to the Delhi's Red Fort Metro Station, resulting in the tragic deaths of at least 10 individuals and injuries to many others. The blast's force ignited several nearby vehicles and caused damage to streetlights and parked cars.
Hasina conveyed her heartfelt sorrow over the loss of innocent lives, expressing her condolences to the affected families and wishing a swift recovery to those injured.
"There is absolutely no justification for extremist terrorism in today’s world. These extremist groups undermine the very essence of a secular, humane, and welfare-centric society. Rooted in Pakistan, these groups have infiltrated networks across various nations, including Bangladesh, and are orchestrating attacks in India to destabilize regional peace," stated Hasina in a message shared on the Awami League’s social media.
"We must unite against these terrorists to uphold peace and stability in South Asia by fostering connections among our peoples. The Bangladesh Awami League fully supports India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this essential battle against terrorism," the statement remarked.
She highlighted that such atrocious acts against humanity have no place in a civilized society and deserve no forgiveness. She asserted that the roots of terrorism need to be thoroughly eliminated.
"Those who back these terrorist factions in Bangladesh and beyond are enemies of humanity, and we vehemently condemn them," Hasina emphasized.
She also reiterated her solidarity with the people of India, promising full cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
"Our commitment to combating terrorism and militancy remains steadfast. We believe that defeating these terrorist groups will uphold justice and human rights, making the world a safer place," Hasina concluded.
