Every year on April 15, Himachal Pradesh Day is celebrated to mark the formation of the state in 1948 as a Chief Commissioner's province. This region was established by uniting 30 princely states, evolving into a Part C state in 1950, a Union Territory in 1956, and ultimately achieving full statehood as the 18th Indian state on January 25, 1971.
In a message shared on X, PM Modi stated, "Warm greetings on Himachal Day to all residents of this sacred land. This Devbhoomi possesses a distinct identity owing to its abundant traditions, remarkable cultural legacy, and the diligence, duty, and humility exhibited by its people. On this significant occasion, I pray for a prosperous future for every family in the state."
Union Home Minister Amit Shah also expressed his greetings via social media for the Foundation Day.
On X, Shah remarked, "Warm wishes to the people of Devbhoomi Himachal Pradesh on this Foundation Day, a region blessed with stunning natural landscapes and cultural richness. I hope Himachal Pradesh, celebrated for its peace, simplicity, and 'Atithi Devo Bhava', continues to thrive in development and governance. May Maa Brahjeshwari's blessings guide the welfare of the state’s citizens."
Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda offered his congratulations to the residents of Himachal, saying, "I send my heartfelt best wishes to the people of Devbhoomi, Himachal Pradesh, known for its breathtaking natural beauty and rich traditions, on this Himachal Day."
He added, "The residents of this noble land, known for bravery and heroism, are ever vigilant in preserving nature and culture, alongside their devotion to the nation. May this sacred land continue to progress steadily towards development and prosperity—this is my sincere wish."
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also shared his heartfelt wishes on X.
"Your trust in this ongoing journey of development for Himachal Pradesh is our greatest asset. It is this very trust that is steadily guiding the state towards self-sufficiency and prosperity," CM Sukhu noted in his post.
