Dhaka, Dec 20 (NationPress) Exiled Bangladeshi author and human rights advocate Taslima Nasreen revealed on Saturday that Dipu Chandra Das, a Hindu youth, was brutally murdered in a mob lynching in Bangladesh after being falsely accused of blasphemy by a Muslim coworker in his factory located in Mymensingh district.

Despite being under police protection, the tragic events unfolded.

In a video shared on her social platform X, Nasreen recounted, "Dipu Chandra Das was employed at a factory in Bhaluka, Mymensingh. Coming from a poor background, he faced a malicious attack from a coworker who, wishing to retaliate for a minor issue, publicly claimed that Dipu had made offensive comments about the Prophet. That was enough to incite violence against him."

"The enraged followers of the Prophet attacked Dipu like a pack of hyenas, tearing him apart. Although the police intervened and took him into custody, he was still under their protection," she elaborated.

She noted that Dipu had informed the police of his innocence and asserted that the claims were part of a conspiracy orchestrated by his coworker.

"The police did not pursue the coworker. Many within the police seem to have sympathies for jihadism. Did they abandon Dipu to the mob out of zeal? Or did jihadists overpower them to drag Dipu away? The aftermath was a gruesome display of violence – beating, hanging, and burning him – a true jihadist festival," Nasreen lamented.

Pointing out that Dipu was the only provider for his family, she expressed concerns about the future of his dependents, including his disabled father, mother, wife, and child. "What will become of them? Who will support his relatives? Who will ensure justice for Dipu? His family can’t even afford to escape to India from the jihadists. The marginalized have no one left to turn to, not even a country or a faith," Nasreen concluded.
