Historic 2.79 Crore Sign-Ups for 'Pariksha Pe Charcha'

New Delhi, Jan 9 (NationPress) With only five days remaining until the registration deadline, an astonishing 2.79 crore individuals, including students, teachers, and parents from India and abroad, have registered for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Pariksha Pe Charcha' (PPC) 2025 - a program aimed at cultivating a positive perspective towards examinations.

In the previous year, 2.26 crore participants (comprising 2.06 crore students, 14.93 lakh teachers, and 5.69 lakh parents) engaged in the initiative.

The eighth edition of Pariksha Pe Charcha is set to occur this month or early February, just prior to the start of annual examinations nationwide.

During the last edition on January 29, PM Modi encouraged students with the advice: "Do not squander time on reels, and ensure you get sufficient sleep." The seventh edition took place at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, in a town hall format and received significant appreciation.

Registration for this year's PPC 2025 opened on December 14 last year and will close on January 14, 2025.

The overwhelming popularity of the program underscores its effectiveness in promoting students' mental well-being and encouraging a positive attitude towards examinations.

This interactive event, organized annually by the Department of School Education and Literacy under the Ministry of Education, has transformed into a highly anticipated celebration of education.

In keeping with the essence of PPC, a variety of engaging activities at the school level are planned from January 12, 2025 (National Youth Day) to January 23, 2025 (Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti).

These initiatives aim to promote holistic development and encourage students to treat examinations as an Utsav. Activities include: traditional games sessions, marathon runs, meme contests, street theater, yoga and meditation sessions, poster-making competitions, inspirational film screenings, mental health workshops and counseling sessions, and performances of poetry and songs.

Through these initiatives, PPC 2025 seeks to reinforce its message of resilience, positivity, and joy in learning, ensuring education is celebrated as a journey rather than a source of pressure.

For PPC 2025, two students (grades 9 to 12) and one teacher from each State/UT, along with winners of Kala Utsav, participants from Veer Gatha, Prenana alumni, and PM SHRI schools will be invited as special guests for the main event.
