New Delhi, Aug 9 (NationPress) The Speaker of the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, announced that the inaugural paperless session of the House wrapped up after a remarkable 19 hours and 40 minutes of legislative discussions, culminating in the passage of crucial Education and GST Bills.
Gupta shared with the press, "The Third session of the Eighth Legislative Assembly has concluded, with a total of matters addressed in 19 hours and 40 minutes."
Beginning on August 4 and adjourning sine die on August 8 after five sittings, the session was marked by in-depth discussions on various legislative, financial, and public welfare issues.
During this period, the House received 171 Special Mention notices under Rule 280, with 62 matters being discussed directly on the floor.
Gupta mentioned that these issues, which pertain to a variety of civic, administrative, and policy topics, have been directed to the appropriate departments for responses within 30 days.
Among the significant legislations passed during this session was The Delhi School Education (Transparency in Fixation and Regulation of Fees) Bill, 2025, introduced by Ashish Sood, the Minister of Education. It was debated over two days with contributions from 24 members before securing passage via voice vote.
