Key Takeaways
Patna, March 6 (NationPress) A dedicated supporter of Bihar's Chief Minister has initiated an indefinite hunger strike outside Nitish Kumar's residence, passionately appealing for him to maintain his leadership role in the state rather than transition to the Rajya Sabha and step back from his position at the helm of the state.
In an interview with IANS, Amarendra Das Triloki expressed his dismay, stating, “The news of Nitish Kumar potentially moving to the Centre has deeply saddened us. Before 2005, Bihar was plagued by disorder and instability. Since taking office in 2005, Nitish Kumar has prioritized development across all sectors. He has established good governance, ensured justice, and fostered growth in education, healthcare, employment, access to clean drinking water, and women's empowerment. Numerous initiatives are underway, contributing to a more prosperous Bihar and happier citizens.”
Triloki further asserted, “Currently, poverty in Bihar is not as dire as in many other states. Therefore, I will not accept his departure. As long as Nitish ji is healthy, he should continue his service and bless Bihar with his leadership. The state now enjoys around 23 hours of electricity daily — such accomplishments are not mere coincidences. We will do everything to ensure he remains.”
He added, “Just as he treats all of Bihar as his family, we view him as part of ours. We will not permit him to go to Delhi; he must stay in Bihar.”
This protest highlights the profound emotional bond many citizens share with Nitish Kumar, whose leadership since 2005 has been credited with stabilizing Bihar, enhancing governance, and executing comprehensive development strategies.
Nitish Kumar, a seasoned leader of the Janata Dal (United), has played a pivotal role in Bihar's political landscape for over twenty years. His governance has significantly transformed the state's social and economic framework, with remarkable advancements in infrastructure, public services, and women's empowerment.
Recently, he submitted his nomination for the Rajya Sabha, a move that could necessitate him to leave his Chief Ministerial role, prompting supporters to rally for his continued leadership in Bihar.
