Hyderabad, Dec 1 (NationPress) The Hyderabad Metro Rail has made a groundbreaking decision by appointing 20 transgender individuals as security staff. After successfully completing their induction training, they commenced their duties from Monday at select Metro stations and within Metro trains. This initiative aligns with the Telangana government’s pledge towards inclusivity, dignity, and equal opportunities.

Hyderabad Metro, recognized as one of India’s most extensive and advanced urban transit systems, operates across three corridors with 57 stations, catering to nearly 500,000 passengers daily.

Approximately 30% of these travelers are women; thus, ensuring their safety, comfort, and confidence remains a top priority, stated Hyderabad Metro.

To further bolster the safety and comfort of female passengers and enhance the existing safety framework, Hyderabad Metro Rail is implementing proactive, capacity-building measures across its network. These initiatives are designed to reassure women commuters, enhance their travel experience, and provide a secure and supportive environment throughout the Metro Rail system.
