Hyderabad, Jan 22 (NationPress) The World Economic Forum has expressed its eagerness to collaborate on the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, which aims to transform the state into a $3 trillion economy.
On Thursday, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy engaged in discussions with Jeremy Jurgens, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, and Manju George, Head of Strategic Impact and Integration, C4IR Network, at the Telangana Pavilion during the WEF 2026 in Davos.
The Chief Minister outlined the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, detailing the roadmap and strategies being implemented to achieve the ambitious target of a $3 trillion economy.
As reported by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Jeremy Jurgens noted that the various aspects of this vision present numerous opportunities for mutual collaboration. "We are enthusiastic about partnering in the Telangana Rising vision and being part of this journey. Hyderabad boasts a remarkable talent pool," the CMO relayed.
The Chief Minister also suggested hosting an annual follow-up WEF meeting in July or August to ensure timely discussions on decisions made during the January meeting, acknowledging that a one-year gap is substantial in today's fast-paced business environment.
The WEF team responded positively to this proposal, despite similar suggestions from various nations. Jeremy Jurgens assured the Chief Minister that they would advance this initiative soon, mentioning that 'Summer Davos' is held annually in China and that there is considerable interest from Saudi Arabia.
Both parties reflected on the journey of C4IR Telangana (Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution), which was inaugurated in Hyderabad at BioAsia 2024 as WEF's inaugural thematic center for healthcare and life sciences in India. This center aims to promote health-tech innovation, policy, and workforce development through strategic collaborations with industry and academia.
Jurgens remarked that the launch of C4IR Telangana at BioAsia serves as a strong model for WEF’s operations in India.
The WEF Managing Director elaborated on C4IR's research focused on best practices in planning industrial clusters and offered to share insights with C4IR Telangana.
Industry Minister D. Sridhar Babu elaborated on the state’s new economic development strategy titled "CURE, PURE, RARE," along with the Bharat Future City, a net-zero greenfield smart city project that aims to set a benchmark for sustainable urban development in India.
The delegation, including Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, showcased Hyderabad's capabilities in various sectors such as aerospace, defense, bio-design, software, and pharmaceuticals. They emphasized the government's current focus on promoting electric vehicles and transitioning to renewable energy, as well as the various skilling initiatives being implemented through the newly launched Advanced Technology Centres, Young India Skills University, and Young India Sports University.
