Hyderabad, Jan 21 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Telangana, A. Revanth Reddy, has put forward a proposal to conduct a follow-up conference of the World Economic Forum (WEF) every July in Hyderabad.
This initiative received unanimous backing from international business leaders and policymakers during the 'Join The Rise' event held in Davos, as reported by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO).
The Chief Minister noted that a year is quite extensive for follow-ups in today’s fast-paced business environment and investment decision-making, prompting him to suggest that the WEF organize an annual follow-up forum in July or August in Hyderabad.
He highlighted the immense success of the recent Telangana Rising Global Summit, which attracted investments exceeding Rs 5.75 lakh crore. “Typically, we come to Davos to sign MoUs, but this year, following the success of the Global Business Summit, we are focusing on showcasing our vision and policies,” he stated.
Reflecting on the remarkable success of the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at Bharat Future City in December 2025, the Chief Minister expressed that Telangana is keen on discussing the hosting of the follow-up Forum in Hyderabad with the WEF.
The event highlighted the growth framework and vision for 2047, introducing the Telangana AI Innovation Hub (TAIH) and the Telangana Next-Gen Life Sciences Policy 2026-2030.
The delegation, which included ministers D. Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, elaborated on the state’s transformative projects – road expansions, Metro rail upgrades, and rejuvenation of rivers, lakes, and water bodies. They also discussed plans for new economic zones, a new city, and a new manufacturing zone aimed at becoming a China +1 alternative.
They emphasized Telangana's unmatched investment potential and sought global companies' support in technology, knowledge, experience, and expertise.
The Chief Minister informed the distinguished attendees that Hyderabad has evolved into a global hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs). He mentioned that Hyderabad is being developed as India's first city operational 24 hours a day, with a focus on enhancing the night-time economy on both banks of the River Musi.
“We are constructing a new city – entirely smart, designed for the future, and India’s response to the best global standards. It is named Bharat Future City, spread over 30,000 acres, with more than 50% allocated as green spaces,” he added.
Popular actor Chiranjeevi, who graced the dinner event, added a special allure to the occasion.
