New Delhi, Sep 1 (NationPress) Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) disclosed a 4.23 percent decrease in overall sales for August on Monday.
During this month, the company recorded sales of 60,501 units, down from 63,175 units in the same month last year.
In terms of domestic sales, HMIL reported 44,001 units sold in August, a decline from 49,525 units a year prior.
On a positive note, exports surged significantly to 16,500 units, up from 13,650 units in August 2024, representing a remarkable 21 percent year-on-year increase.
Tarun Garg, Whole-time Director and Chief Operating Officer of HMIL, commented on the results, stating that the company aims to establish India as a pivotal manufacturing hub for emerging markets and Hyundai's largest export center outside South Korea.
“This ambition is gaining substantial momentum month after month. Our exports have risen by an impressive 21 percent year-on-year in August 2025,” Garg remarked.
From January to August 2025, HMIL has successfully exported 118,840 units, thereby reinforcing India’s position as a global manufacturing center for Hyundai.
Garg emphasized that Hyundai is committed to the 'Make in India' initiative and consistently delivers exceptional products designed for both domestic and international markets.
“Transcending geographical limits, we at Hyundai Motor India take great pride in 'Make in India' and continue to produce world-class, value-driven products tailored for the global market,” Garg noted.
He further explained that the company’s approach, which combines advanced manufacturing techniques with India’s talented workforce, has bolstered the government’s 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative and enhanced Hyundai’s status as a significant global player in the automotive sector.
“By merging world-class manufacturing methods with the highly skilled Indian workforce, we remain crucial in supporting the Government of India’s 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiative,” he added.
In a related update, Hyundai Motor announced on Sunday that sales of its revamped Nexo hydrogen-powered SUV have approached 7,000 units since its launch in June, significantly surpassing its predecessor.
