Patna, April 8 (NationPress) To honor the brave martyrs of India’s 1857 freedom struggle, the Indian Air Force (IAF) is set to conduct an exhilarating aerobatic air show over the JP Ganga Pathway, commonly referred to as Marine Drive, in Patna on April 22-23.
The event will showcase the acclaimed Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, which will perform synchronized aerial maneuvers using nine Hawk-132 jet aircraft above the Ganga River.
This initiative was launched by the Bihar government as part of the commemorations for the birth anniversary of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh, a legendary figure from the 1857 uprising and a symbol of valor and defiance in the fight for India's freedom.
On April 22, the IAF will conduct a full-dress rehearsal for the air show.
Students and young adults will be invited to attend the rehearsal and draw inspiration from the IAF.
The official air show will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on April 23.
The air show will take place each day from 10:15 am to 12:15 pm.
The Bihar government has selected specific locations near the approach road in front of the Divisional Commissioner’s office, adjacent to Gandhi Maidan Patna, which will be accessible to the public.
In a media briefing, Additional Chief Secretary S. Siddharth stated, “This event serves as a tribute to the heroes of 1857, especially Babu Veer Kunwar Singh. His legacy continues to inspire generations, and this air show is a way to express our gratitude and foster a sense of patriotism among the youth.”
The event is being collaboratively organized by the Directorate of Civil Aviation, District Administration Patna, and the Cabinet Secretariat.
“This event will not only honor our freedom fighters but also motivate young individuals to serve the nation by joining the Indian Air Force,” Siddharth further remarked.
The air show aims to replicate the grandeur of Republic Day and Independence Day celebrations, fostering enthusiasm and pride among the people of Bihar.
