Mumbai, March 25 (NationPress) Bollywood star Imran Khan, fondly known as Jai from the blockbuster film Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na, expresses concern that contemporary films lack empathy, kindness, and emotional depth in their narratives and characters.

During a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session, Imran articulated his sentiments while engaging with fans and pondering the current cinematic landscape in Bollywood.

A fan remarked, "These days, it's just cash-grab sequels with minimal connection to their originals and action movies released almost every week, neglecting the classic genres. You were once the king of feel-good films; we truly need more of that now. I was ecstatic to learn about your comeback in Danish Aslam's 'adhure hum adhure tum.'"

"I had been eagerly waiting for Netflix to unveil their 2026 lineup and was genuinely disappointed not to see any sneak peeks of your upcoming film."

In response, Imran acknowledged, "Thank you! I share your sentiment; I believe there are specific emotional elements that are significantly underrepresented in current films; there is a clear absence of empathy, kindness, and a sense of responsibility in our narratives and characters."

Discussing his film, he added, "We intentionally designed Adhure Hum Adhure Tum to address these neglected themes. The film is currently in post-production, and we aim for a release later this year, but that decision is ultimately up to Netflix."

Imran Khan made his Bollywood debut with Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na in 2008, where his role as Jai became one of the most cherished and relatable characters among viewers.

The film, featuring Genelia D’Souza and Prateik Babbar, has maintained a loyal fanbase even after 18 years since its release.

He subsequently appeared in films such as I Hate Luv Storys, Delhi Belly, Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, and Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

Being the nephew of Bollywood legend Aamir Khan, Imran was last seen in Katti Batti (2015).

After nearly a decade away from the film industry, he is set to return with his upcoming project Adhure Hum Adhure Tum.
