Washington, Feb 14 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday, during a joint briefing with President Donald Trump in the US, emphasized India's vision of 'Make India Great Again' (MIGA) — a term inspired by Trump's well-known slogan 'Make America Great Again' (MAGA).

According to PM Modi, the combined concept of 'MAGA' and 'MIGA' creates a mega partnership for prosperity.

"The citizens of America are very familiar with President Trump's motto 'MAGA - Make America Great Again.' Similarly, the people of India are concentrating on their heritage and development as they progress rapidly with a steadfast aim of Viksit Bharat 2047. In American terms, it’s Make India Great Again — MIGA. When America and India collaborate, this MAGA plus MIGA results in a 'mega partnership for prosperity', which embodies the spirit that amplifies our goals," the PM stated.

"President Trump frequently mentions MAGA. In India, we are striving for a Viksit Bharat, which in American terms translates to MIGA. Together, India and the USA boast a MEGA partnership for prosperity!@POTUS @realDonaldTrump," PM Modi expressed on the social media platform X.

The two leaders also declared their ambition to achieve a $500 billion target for bilateral trade by 2030.

"Today, we have also set a goal to more than double our bilateral trade, reaching $500 billion by 2030. Our teams will soon finalize a mutually beneficial trade agreement," PM Modi stated, highlighting that both nations are progressing towards joint development, production, and technology transfer.

"We aim to boost oil and gas trade to safeguard India's energy security. Investment in energy infrastructure is set to rise. We also discussed enhancing our collaboration in the nuclear energy sector, especially regarding small modular reactors. America is crucial to India's defense preparedness. In the upcoming days, new technology and equipment will bolster our capabilities," he added.

PM Modi also mentioned that Washington and New Delhi are striving to finalize a 'mutually beneficial trade agreement' soon.

PM Modi, the fourth global leader to visit the US since Mr. Trump's return to the White House, met the US President and his close associate and billionaire Elon Musk on Thursday. This meeting occurred shortly after Mr. Trump announced reciprocal tariffs on all nations, including India.
