Indore, March 18 (NationPress) Tragically, six individuals lost their lives when a devastating fire broke out in a three-storey residence located in the Tilak Nagar area of Madhya Pradesh's Indore during the early hours of Wednesday, as reported by officials.

The inferno ignited in the early morning hours, catching the inhabitants by surprise and quickly consuming the entire building.

Officials stated that the house belonged to a businessman named Manoj. It has been reported that an electric vehicle was being charged outside, and a short circuit associated with it is believed to have sparked the fire. The flames rapidly engulfed the structure, leaving the occupants with little chance to escape.

Indore Collector Shivam Verma confirmed the fatalities while addressing IANS. He noted that over 10 individuals were inside the house at the time of the incident. While three people were rescued in time, unfortunately, six others could not be saved.

Verma further revealed that a firefighting team, consisting of around 8 to 10 members, arrived promptly and worked diligently to control the blaze.

Witnesses indicated that the family had guests at the time of the fire, which contributed to the increased number of people present in the home.

"At approximately 3 a.m., we became aware of the fire. We immediately contacted emergency services. However, the fire was so intense that it spread rapidly throughout the house. Some residents sustained injuries, and tragically, some have been confirmed deceased," a neighbor recounted to IANS.

Councillor Rajiv Jain described the family as well-respected and involved in community activities.

"They were always engaged in various initiatives and helped those in need. This incident is profoundly unfortunate. We wish for the quick recovery of the injured," Jain expressed to IANS.

In the meantime, those injured in the fire have been transported to a local hospital for treatment, while the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examinations.
