New Delhi, June 20 (NationPress) The Indian Naval Ship (INS) Teg made its way to Port Louis, Mauritius on June 19 as part of its operational mission in the South West Indian Ocean Region. This visit, lasting until June 22, highlights India's expanding maritime collaboration with Mauritius and reaffirms its dedication to protecting the region's maritime interests. Moreover, it coincides with the 11th International Day of Yoga.
The vessel will engage in joint surveillance of the Mauritian Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in cooperation with the Mauritius National Coast Guard (NCG) ships and aircraft, reinforcing India's pledge to ensure the safety of global maritime resources and combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated (lUU) fishing.
On June 21, a joint yoga session will be hosted aboard INS Teg, bringing together personnel from the Indian Navy, the NCG, and members of the Indian community in a celebration of unity and well-being.
INS Teg, a stealth frigate belonging to the Western Fleet of the Indian Navy, was commissioned on April 27, 2012.
