Witnesses reported that while one individual stood guard outside, the other entered a residence to seize the cylinder.
The pair was then observed loading the LPG cylinder onto their scooter, trying to escape the scene.
However, as they navigated a tight alley, the scooter skidded, causing both thieves to tumble onto the street along with the cylinder.
Recognizing the chance, local residents quickly pursued the fleeing suspects.

The Deputy Commissioner of Police (East), Sanjeev Nain, later identified the captured suspect as Rohit, a 19-year-old from Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.
Rohit was reportedly residing in a rented room near Lalkothi Sabzi Mandi in Jaipur.
During interrogation, he confessed that he was manipulated into committing the theft for easy money by an accomplice.
After his capture, locals handed him over to the Bajaj Nagar Police, who are now searching for the accomplice who escaped.
This incident took place around 9 a.m. on Sunday in lane number-5 of Adarsh Bazaar situated in Barkat Nagar, Jaipur.
Officials noted that the two young men approached on a scooter and targeted a home, stealing a gas cylinder from the porch.
Another similar theft occurred recently in Alwar, where thieves stole an LPG cylinder in broad daylight from a residence in Madhuban Bank Colony, further emphasizing the concerning trend during the ongoing gas crisis in Rajasthan.
