Jaipur, April 1 (NationPress) Effective April 1, the cost of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Rajasthan has been lowered to Rs 1,790, a decrease from the earlier Rs 1,830.50. Meanwhile, the price of domestic LPG cylinders remains unchanged at Rs 806.50.

The oil marketing companies have declared a reduction of Rs 40.50 in the price of commercial LPG cylinders. This follows a Rs 7 reduction in February and a Rs 62 increase in December. The current rate in Delhi stands at Rs 1,762, while in Jaipur it is Rs 1,790.

As stated by Deepak Gehlot, the State President of the Rajasthan LPG Distributors Association, there was an increase of Rs 6 in commercial gas prices during March, following reductions of Rs 14.50 in January and Rs 6 in February.

Domestic consumers can remain relieved as there is no change in household LPG prices.

In Rajasthan, the price of a domestic LPG cylinder continues to be Rs 806.50. For BPL and Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries, the subsidized price remains at Rs 450 due to state government subsidies.

This drop in commercial gas cylinder prices is anticipated to support hotels, restaurants, small shopkeepers, and confectioners who depend on LPG.

Businesses will benefit from the new LPG rates implemented in the state, although prices might differ across states due to taxes and transportation costs.

The BJP promised LPG cylinder delivery at Rs 450 prior to the 2023 Assembly elections. Following their electoral victory, the Rajasthan government launched a new initiative for families under the National Food Security Scheme (NFSA).

Eligible families can now procure LPG gas cylinders for only Rs 450. To access this benefit, linking the Aadhaar cards of all family members to the NFSA ration card along with their LPG IDs is mandatory. According to the guidelines of the Food and Civil Supplies Department, each family is entitled to a cylinder at a subsidized rate each month.
