Srinagar, May 30 (NationPress) The counter-intelligence division of the Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted extensive searches on Friday at various sites throughout Kashmir, as part of an ongoing inquiry into alleged terror affiliations.
A declaration from the counter-intelligence division stated, "Today's operations are integral to a broader investigation aimed at identifying individuals with potential connections to terrorist organizations."
Coordinated raids were executed at undisclosed locations to gather evidence linked to terror networks active in the area.
Security measures in sensitive regions were also enhanced as a precaution, according to the announcement.
This operation coincides with heightened efforts by security forces to eliminate terror-related activities in Kashmir, following multiple incidents that have raised alarms regarding renewed attempts to disrupt peace in the region.
The raids from the counter-intelligence division occurred during Union Home Minister Amit Shah's visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Just last week, in a notable effort targeting the terror infrastructure in Jammu province, the State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir Police conducted synchronous raids at 18 sites across four districts, resulting in the confiscation of significant incriminating evidence.
"These well-coordinated raids were executed simultaneously by specialized SIA teams, with support from local police and magistrates, as part of the agency's ongoing mission to dismantle sleeper cells and disrupt terror networks in the region.
Out of the 18 locations targeted, 12 were in the Surankote subdivision, with three in the Haveli tehsil of Poonch district. Additional operations were carried out at one location each in Rajouri town (Rajouri district), Ramnagar (Udhampur district), and Ramban. A substantial amount of incriminating material has been secured following established legal protocols," the statement clarified.
The confiscated materials are currently under thorough examination, and further inquiries are ongoing.
Numerous suspects have been summoned to participate in the investigation at SIA Jammu.
"These actions stem from actionable intelligence developed through the SIA's persistent efforts to unveil and neutralize covert terror-support structures operating within Jammu province.
