Srinagar, July 3 (NationPress) The State Investigation Agency (SIA) of Jammu and Kashmir Police executed search operations at two locations in the Anantnag district on Thursday, linked to the ongoing investigation of a non-local murder case.
A statement from the SIA indicated that these actions were part of a broader inquiry into the shocking murder of Raja Sah on April 17, 2024, in Bijbehara.
The primary intention behind these searches was to discover essential evidence that could help unravel the plot behind this gruesome act and identify any co-conspirators involved in the case, which has been logged under FIR No. 87/2024 under Section 302 IPC, 7/27 Arms Act, and 13, 16, and 20 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at the Police Station Bijbehara.
These well-coordinated searches were conducted with strict adherence to legal protocols and have reportedly uncovered crucial evidence expected to bolster the investigation.
“Such efforts will assist the SIA Kashmir in ensuring that those behind this terrorist act face justice and dismantle the terror network involved in these activities,” stated an official.
The search operations represent a vital move toward identifying and capturing the accomplices and supporters of the accused, ensuring a thorough investigation into the murder and associated unlawful activities, he added.
“The SIA J&K is committed to safeguarding the lives of citizens and thwarting any efforts to disturb the peace in J&K,” he concluded.
The SIA has effectively investigated and charged several high-profile crime cases over the years.
In a notable incident from 2002, terrorists murdered advocate Babar Qadri in his residence in the Hawal area of Srinagar.
During the attack, one of the assailants remained outside the main entrance to monitor the situation, while the other two, carrying a dummy case file, were seated in the verandah.
Prior to his assassination, Qadri had accused Mian Qayoom, the former president of the High Court Bar Association, of orchestrating his murder.
The SIA subsequently apprehended Mian Qayoom and charged him with the murder of Babar Qadri in a court of law.
