Srinagar, May 1 (NationPress) The Chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Darakhshan Andrabi, presented an appointment letter to the brother of Syed Adil Hussain Shah, the pony wallah who lost his life during a terrorist attack in Pahalgam while heroically attempting to protect tourists.
Andrabi remarked to the press that the job offer was bestowed to honor the brave act of the horse ride operator. “His sacrifice will always be remembered,” she stated.
Witnesses reported that Syed Adil Hussain confronted the terrorists, questioning their motives for harming innocent individuals.
They further asserted he attempted to disarm one of the attackers but was tragically shot during the confrontation.
On April 22, a total of 26 civilians, including 25 tourists and a local resident, were killed by terrorists in the scenic Baisaran meadow of Pahalgam, igniting national outrage.
In response, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared that the terrorists and their supporters would be pursued relentlessly.
Following discussions with the Defence Minister, National Security Advisor, Chief of Defence Services, and the heads of the Army, Navy, and Air Force, the Prime Minister confirmed that the armed forces have been granted autonomy to retaliate against the Pahalgam attackers, including determining the timing and scale of their response.
On Monday, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh engaged in a 40-minute meeting with the Prime Minister after receiving a comprehensive briefing from the CDS regarding the military's readiness to address any potential scenarios.
